The Discraft Challenger

The Discraft Challenger (Jawbreaker) is a classic, bead-equipped putter made for players who like a deep, steady feel and a flight they can trust. It holds a straight line on putts and approaches, then finishes with a reliable fade — great for windy circles, firm hyzer putts, and controlled upshots that need to land predictably.

Jawbreaker plastic adds a grippy, slightly “chalky” tack that feels locked-in even when conditions get damp or cold. It’s the kind of putter you can lean on for both putting and throwing duties, especially if you want stability without a dumpy finish. Simple, dependable, and easy to trust — that’s the Challenger vibe.

Discraft Plastics and Flights

Base Plastics

Pro-D: Discraft’s classic baseline plastic: very grippy, affordable, and beats in quickly. Great for putting and cycling discs through wear stages.

Jawbreaker: High-end baseline putter plastic: super tacky with a slightly flexible, chalky feel. Loved for confident putting grip and controlled approaches.

Putter Line / Putter Blend: Discraft’s dedicated putter baseline blend. Typically comes in “Soft” or “Hard” runs; both are very grippy with a clean, consistent release.

Rubber Blend: A baseline-style mix with extra gumminess and grip. Great for touch approaches and putting in slick conditions.

Premium Plastics

Z Line: Discraft’s most durable stock premium plastic. Translucent, very wear-resistant, and usually the most stable version of a mold.

Big Z: Z-Line durability with a more opaque look and bold stamp art. Grip sits between Z and ESP; flights often slightly less stable than Z.

Titanium: Premium metallic-sheen plastic combining Z-level durability with ESP-like grip. Often a bit more stable and very long-lasting.

ESP: Premium plastic with excellent grip and strong durability. Opaque, often swirly, and typically a touch less overstable than Z.

ESP FLX: ESP durability with extra flex. Gummier feel, tends to land softer with reduced skip, and stays grippy in cold weather.

CryZtal FLX: A clearer, “glassy” Z-family plastic. CryZtal FLX adds flex for softer landings; frequently used for special runs.
