The Innova Racer

The Innova Racer (Star) is a fast, glide-heavy driver made for players who want maximum distance without feeling like they’re wrestling a meat hook. Think of it as a controllable bomber: it pushes forward with a touch of turn, carries forever, then finishes with a smooth, dependable fade.

Star plastic gives the Racer that sweet premium combo of firm confidence and tacky grip, so it feels great off both forehand and backhand releases and holds up round after round. If you’re looking for a distance driver that rewards clean form with long, penetrating flights—and doesn’t dump out early—the Racer is ready to hunt birdies. 

Innova Plastics and Flights

Base Plastics

DX: Innova’s classic baseline plastic: very grippy, affordable, and beats in quickly. Great for beginners, putters, and cycling discs through different stages of wear. 

Pro: A step up from DX: still excellent grip, noticeably more durable, and seasons more slowly. Often used for drivers where you want premium-ish feel without premium cost

Yeti Pro: Pro blend tuned for putting: medium-firm with a tacky, confident grip. Commonly paired with big-bead Aviars. 

XT: Firm, grippy, and more durable than DX/Pro. Great for putters and approach discs when you want baseline feel with extra lifespan.

Premium Plastics

Champion: Innova’s most durable stock premium plastic: glassy feel, very wear-resistant, and usually the most stable version of a mold.

Star: Premium grippy plastic with excellent durability. Feels a bit softer and tackier than Champion and typically flies slightly less overstable.

GStar: A softer, more flexible Star-family plastic. Very grippy, stays flexible in cold weather, and often runs a touch less stable than Star.
