The Innova Toro

The Innova Toro (Champion) is a flat-top, beefy approach disc made for confident forehands, windy upshots, and situations where you need the disc to not drift off plan. Co-designed with Calvin Heimburg, the Toro is built to handle serious torque while staying compact and controllable. 

Champion plastic gives it that crisp, premium feel and keeps the overstability locked in for the long haul. Expect a straight, low-glide push followed by a hard, dependable fade — perfect for spike hyzers, skip approaches, touchy headwind shots, and forehand lines that must finish strong. If you want a disc that flies like a “point and shoot” utility tool for the short game, the Toro is money. 

Innova Plastics and Flights

Base Plastics

DX: Innova’s classic baseline plastic: very grippy, affordable, and beats in quickly. Great for beginners, putters, and cycling discs through different stages of wear. 

Pro: A step up from DX: still excellent grip, noticeably more durable, and seasons more slowly. Often used for drivers where you want premium-ish feel without premium cost

Yeti Pro: Pro blend tuned for putting: medium-firm with a tacky, confident grip. Commonly paired with big-bead Aviars. 

XT: Firm, grippy, and more durable than DX/Pro. Great for putters and approach discs when you want baseline feel with extra lifespan.

Premium Plastics

Champion: Innova’s most durable stock premium plastic: glassy feel, very wear-resistant, and usually the most stable version of a mold.

Star: Premium grippy plastic with excellent durability. Feels a bit softer and tackier than Champion and typically flies slightly less overstable.

GStar: A softer, more flexible Star-family plastic. Very grippy, stays flexible in cold weather, and often runs a touch less stable than Star.
